Sinometrics is a language service provider that offers translation and localization services to a wide variety of clients in many different industries.
Before we implemented LTC’s business management technology we were using the usual mix of spreadsheets, Word documents and email templates that most LSPs out there contend with. We had no central repository of historical projects and used a number of stand alone web applications to allow our clients to communicate with us online. This scenario was error prone, led to inconsistency and made it difficult to find data when it was needed.
In 2006 we started looking for a solution that would help us manage our projects more efficiently. After assessing the software available on the market thoroughly we decided to purchase LTC Organiser.
The key benefit for us was centralization. We manage all our projects in the software, and enjoy a consistent workflow throughout. We are able to look up project data quickly and get reports on the business at large easily. The finance aspect of LTC Organiser is also of great benefit. Thanks to its central price lists our quoting and pricing is now completely consistent and very quick. We can create all our purchase orders, quotes and invoices at the click of a button. These are now stored centrally in one location and can be looked up very quickly.
Furthermore, we can synchronize all financial data with QuickBooks which is most convenient for our accounting department.
Another huge benefit is LTC Organiser’s auto numbering feature. LTC Organiser automatically creates numbering for our projects, invoices, POs, etc based on numbering rules we set up. This feature saves us a lot of time and also helps to ensure consistency.
The Trados log file importer is an additional benefit to the convenient word count facility already offered in the system. We can simply create Quotes and Projects based on the log file analyses.
As an existing customer we were pleased to get early information about LTC Worx, LTC’s new business management system, and were keen to learn more. We have tested LTC Worx, the successor product to LTC Organiser, thoroughly and were very impressed by what we saw. We are now in the process of cross-grading.
First of all we like the fact that LTC Worx is fully browser based and developed specifically for the web. It is fast and allows easy access to all users of the system from anywhere, which is a huge benefit for us. On top of that LTC Worx comes with free unlimited portals for our clients and our vendors.
We are really excited how flexible and adaptable LTC Worx is. We can create workflows and templates for all our processes, which ensure consistency and high quality for every step of the way. LTC Worx’ setup allows us to adapt the software to our needs ourselves. For example, in its role management feature we can setup each user so that they can see only data they need to work with. This makes their lives easier and greatly reduces the time it takes to train employees.
The open, documented APIs are also a superb feature. They will allow us to create connectors and interfaces with other software ourselves or to get ready made ones from LTC. We also like the fact that LTC Worx is offered as a Software as a Service solution, as we like our ‘infrastructure applications’ to be fully hosted. The great thing is that we gain all of this additional functionality and keep all the features we have come to love in LTC Organiser as LTC Worx covers them all.
